Greetings to the first edition of our Adams2 blog. I wanted to drop in for a minute and give you an update on the book that we published last Spring, The Big Girls Club: Little Girl Rules for the Big Girls Workplace by Judi Adams and Gael Strack.

If you haven't read it yet, this handy little self-help book is a bit of "Eckhart Tolle meets Sex In The City". It's written for women by women; it shares stories, good and bad, about women in the workplace. It consists of ten stories and ten rules to help women succeed together. The response to the book has been remarkable. Women are contacting us from all over the country. They tell us they love the book - that they are sharing it with their friends, colleagues, daughters and granddaughters. They are sending in their own "Big Girl" stories. It's available at any major online bookstore like Amazon.com.

Here's the update - see pictures below. This past December, I was invited to come to Little Rock Arkansas and put on the first ever "TBGC Workshop" - a training for women who manage other women. What a wonderful event. I met with more than 50 women from the Arkansas HIPPY Program, coordinators from thirty-three different sites. HIPPY is the acronym for "Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters".

These women are truly "Big Girls" they are committed to helping parents prepare their preschoolers to succeed in school. Emphasis is on early childhood literacy. These women live and breathe books and, along with their home visiting staff, help parents teach their children to love books and reading. So of course they loved reading "The Big Girls Club: Little Girl Rules for the Big Girl Workplace".

You can see by the pictures this was a fun event. During our time together, we got to "meet all of the girls" in our book (Jasmine, Scarlett, Wanda, Candy -to name a few), and then they shared some of their own workplace stories and challenges. We applied some of the key Big Girl rules in the book: Pinky Finger Swear, Play Nice, Beware of Women without Female Friends, The Baby Jane Alert). Feedback was great!

"This was so much fun. It was like meeting with a group of best friends."

"I remembered that I can deal with heavy issues in a fun light way."

"I found my little girl self and learned to trust my uh-oh feelings."

"This is the best workshop that I've ever been to."

Here they are - meet some of true “Big Girls” who are changing the world for children in Arkansas.
